Senior Marine Archaeologist
Ryan Killion MSc RPA

Ryan is a Registered Professional Archaeologist in the United States (RPA #17573), with five years of experience conducting Phase I, II, and III cultural resource investigations across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. His expertise includes regulatory compliance under Section 106, NEPA, and UK/EU frameworks, GIS, and remote sensing. Since joining Coracle, he has undertaken full EIAs for major offshore developments including wind farms, telecoms cables and land reclamation projects in the UK, Ireland, and Hong Kong. Ryan meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology and is a SHPO-qualified consultant in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. He also meets the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) standards for a Qualified Marine Archaeologist.
Ryan holds a degree in Anthropology from Towson University (2016) and an MSc in Maritime Archaeology from the University of Southampton (2018), where he was affiliated with the Centre for Maritime Archaeology and the Centre for the Archaeology of Human Origins.
